An Ancient Legend

I have an ancient legend I thought I talk about today, one that was passed down my clan for generations. It is about our mother goddess, Celena and her sister goddess, Elena.

In the begining when the world was first created, only spirits roamed the barren land. But one day the sky gave birth to two stars, the spirits watched as the two stars fell to the world gathering around them. What greeted them was not two stars but two young fox kit’s, both were the color of stone with soft white markings. The sprits nutured the two kit’s and soon they were grown, as the two grew they had sprouted two more tails and one who the spirits had named Elena had shed her grey fur for bright a bright red one. The other, named Celena, had shed her fur for a soft white one. The two sisters continually walked around the planet, Elena often playfully chasing the spirits while her more quiet sister Celena followed her.
One day though Elena wandered much farther away chasing a spirit through a jagged ravine. Losing her footing Elena slipped falling into the depths of the ravine, the spirits tried to help her but thier bodies were not solid like hers and all they could do was watch.
Celena bounded down the ravine after her sister but was to far behind to help. Elena fell to the ground a single yelp emitting from her, Celena quickly hurried to her fallen sisters side and nuzzled her still form urging her to get up. But Elena’s lay still unmoving her breath still. Surrounded by the spirits Celena howled mournfully up into the sky, hearing her howl the sky cried out in grief shooting out lightining and thunder for the fallen fox. One bolt of light shot onto Elena’s form flames sprouting from it. The flames engulfed the foxes body soon turning it to ash.
One spirit came to Celena and softly told her do gather her sisters ashes and to throw them into the wind to be scattered around the world. When asked why the spirit said that if she did so it would honor her sister.
Following the spirits advice Celena gathered her sisters ashes and took them high up on a legde tossing them out to the wind. As the ashes floated down Celena let out another mournful howl before she collapased, passing away from heart break.
The spirits cried out for thier fallen child, hearing the cries the sky again mourned and burned Celena’s body and sent a gust of wind to send her ashes with her sister’s. In greif the sky let it’s tears fall to ground mixing with some of the ashes clouds were formed. While the ashes on the ground sprouted plants and animals. Soon the world was bristling with life and seeing this the sky cried out in joy.
Soon the spirits started to nurture the new life and helped it grow. But still the planet was dark and grey, some of the plants started to wither the animals growing sick. Crying out to the sky the spirits asked for help; In grief the sky bore back Elena and Celena’s spirits making them the sun, Elena, and moon, Celena. Elena sprouted orange-red flames on her markings and Celena blue-white ones. Elena’s flame warmed the world and nurtured the plants and animals and forever the two sisters circled the planet nurturing the life their ashes created.

( Okay this is a rough draft and will possibly be changed alil. Really it was a spur of the moment thought that I decided to post as an entry, since I have’nt posted in awhile. Feedback is always appreciated. Thanks for reading!)

Day 1- Shopping in Gelnhaven

Today was another nice day so I decided to get up early and hit the market for some supplies. I awoke just as the sun was lighting the sky in soft rosy tones, as roosters crowed somewhere. I quickly dressed throwing on a simple light blue dress and thin cloak and departed down stairs to grab a bite to eat. Since I was going to the market I decided to leave my weapons in my room. Only trouble I should have to worry about is pickpockets, although I should hope they wouldn’t try to cross me.

Glenhaven is a normal bustling crossroads town with kindly citizens and traders pasing through. High wood walls surrounded the inner markets and stores and homes with two gates on the north and south walls. Outside the town runs a river which feeds through the town. One thing I like about this town is the Kelpie that reside in the river.

Kelpie are very interesting creatures, they are know to lure people into a watery death. Kelpie are the size of small horse’s, thier face looked like a sea horse its ears webbed like a dragons. they don’t have fur or course but plate like skin, although their back is covered with a sticky substance where its prey would be caught. Many people belive they are evil since they will prey on just about anything, animal or villager. But thier just animals trying to get along with the rest of the expanding citizens.

But here in Glenhaven the people don’t see them like that. Infact after learning about the kelpie they soon came to an agreement with the animals. In turn for living in the kelpies home the citizens of the town would feed the kelpie in turn the Kelpie provided more protection to the town. Many bandits tend to stay clear of the town because of thier guardians, so the only crime her was an occasional pickpocket or kids causeing mischief.

As I shopped and talked to the various merchants I found out that a small gathering was to be held outside the wall tonight, it’s called the Gathering of Mischa, who is the moon goddess. They hold it once a month during the full moon and it was mostly just a small intimate festival even though strangers were welcome. I wonder if I should go or not? The moon goddess is our mother to us Kitsu, she created the first Kitsu ages ago to teach the beings of the world thier healing abilities. Thats why most follow the teachings of priest/priestess hood, to follow in the goddess’ path of healing. Many beings seek out a strong Kitsu healer if they want to learn, although this can be rather difficult as I mentioned most of my kind are relcluse.

I will have to think about going or not, I know Leo would get nostalgic if we went. He is often home sick I’ve noticed, I wonder if I cursed him by letting him travel with me or helped him as niether of us will see our Clan any time soon.

I wrapped up early and decided to head back to the Inn and see if Leo would want to go, if so I was going to offer some help in setting up for the gathering. Most times at these an actual priestess wouldn’t even be there it would only be simple villagers offering homage, maybe they would enjoy my help.

Hello there stranger, and welcome.

Ah, the bright sunny day of spring. It’s so inviting, warm yet cool. Not blistering like summer nor freezing like winter. It is the in between season much like fall, it’s on the cusp. Yet it is one of the most important seasons, fall being another one.

Spring defrosts the frozen land and warms the earth nurturing small seeds that were in hibernation during winter, to grow and thrive.  Spring raises the land to prepare for the summer months and to continue life.

It has been a long time since I have felt the warm spring air on my skin. My name is Akkia Darkmoon. I am a Hunter/priestess. Yes I know very werid combo but the latter was my former job. But bit was not going to cut it for my ‘adventure’.

Before I tell you about my travels I and all tell you about myself. I am no ordinary being, I am a Kitsu. Kitsu are a type of were-fox who can master magic and skilled at fighting, although many do not follow warrior teachings. Many Kitsu are Priest or Priestess’. Alot of us our more nomadic recluse’s. So you probably don’t see much of us. Also we appear human but can shapeshift into Were, and feral forms. What makes us different from humans is our hair, and eyes. All Kitsu have Silver hair and silver eyes. Well all normal ones, I’m not one of these normal ones. No I was lucky enough to be born with Platinum hair and bright ice blue eyes.  It may seem no big deal, and really its not. All it does is show I’m different, but to be different can be a curse. Because of my difference I have been traveling.

I’ll tell you why soon, I’m sure it will come up many times in this journal.

Currently I am in Glenhaven, it is a small town located in the southern regions. I’ve come here to meet up with an old friend, his name is Leo. For the past year an a half I have been deep in the mountains counseling Drakian on a few things. I left Leo here before I did though.

You must think I’m harsh leaving a friend behind. But I did it because he is still younger then me and where the Drakian live, well it can be quite boring and dull. There’s only so much you can do stuck in a mountain while blizzards rage outside. And when I say younger I mean he is a teenager in our race. Leo is 125, but in my race that’s still a young age, in human standards he would be..lets see 17-20? Around there. Anyway he agreed with me and stayed in the bustling town where I’m sure he made lots of nice girlfriends, He can be quite the little charmer..

Ah! Look at the sun, already close to late noon and I have yet to Find that boy. I will say ‘ta-ta’ ,as they say, for now.
